In the name of God Amen I Anthony Hanby of Boldron in the Parish of Startforth in the County of [York] being in health in body and of sound and perfect mem[ory] praised be God Do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner following First and principally I com[m]end my Soul into the hands of my almighty Creator hoping through the merits of my blessed redeemer to have remission of all my Sins and my body I Committ to the Earth to be buried in Such decent manner as to my Ex[ecu]trix hereafter named Shall be thought fit And as l[ ]cking such wor[ ] estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I Give & bequeath the same in manner following (that is to say) I Give and be[queath] unto my loving wife Jane Hanby all my Goods Chattels [ ] Estate and effects whatsoever and of what kind or nature [ ] the same be she paying and defraying thereout all my debts and funeral expences And I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my Said loving wife Jane Hanby Sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament hereby revokeing all former will and wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seal this Twentieth Day of April in the thirteenth year of the reign of [ ] King George Annoq Dui[ ] 1727
