In the name of God Amen I Thomas Atkin of Boulron in the County of Yorke Yeoman being infirme in [missing portion of will]
But of perfect and disposeing minde and memory Praissed be God doe make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoacking all former [missing portion of will] and Testament by me made in manner and forme following First and Principally I give my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing in and through the alone Meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to be made partaker of life Eternall and my body to be buryed in Such Decent and orderly mann[er] as to my Executors hereafter named Shall be thought fitt and convenient and As to my worldly estate wherewith itt hath pleased God to endow me with all farr above my deserts and not formerly legally by me disposed of I give legate devise and bequeath the same as hereafter menc[i]oned and Expressed That is to say I give legate devise and bequeath unto my Cozen Isabell Clarkson the Revers[i]on of all and singuler my Messuage Lands Tenements Riggs Poles pasture gates parcells of ground and premisses with appurt[enance]s in Boulron aforesaid or within the Parishes of Startforth or Bowes or either of them by what names Soever the land be knowne or called To have and to hold the Reverc[i]on of all and Singuler the said Messuages Lands Closes parcells of ground pasture gates Riggs and premisses aforesaid Imediately after the death and decease of Isabell my wife unto the Said Isabell Clarkson her heires and Assignes To onely proper use and behoofe of the Said Isabell Clarkson her heires and Assigns for ever And Whereas I have by my deeds of Lease and Release duely executed bearing date on or about the Seaven and Twentyeth and Eight and Twentyeth days of November in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Nyne given, granted Released and Confirmed unto my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson nd her heires One Messuage or Dwelling house and Garth and Severall Lands Closes pasture gates parcells of ground and premisses with appurt[enance]s in Boulron aforesaid in the said Indentures particularly menc[i]oned To hold to the Said IsabellClarkson her heires and Assignes forever As by the said Indentures may more fully appeare I doe therefore hereby ratifye and Confirme the same unto the said Isabell Clarkson and her heires pusuant to the Intent and [?] meaning of the said Indentures Item I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my Nephew Robert Smith now in their Ma[jes]ties Service If itt pleases God hee doe hereafter returne the Sum of Tenn pounds to be payed him by my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson within Three Monthes next after the death and decease of my said wife Item I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Smith the sum of Five pounds to be alsoe pay[e]d him by my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson within Three Months next after the death of my Said Wife in full of any right or Clayme that may be by them or either of them their or either of their heires Executors Adm[inistra]tors or Assignes or any of them p[?] ded to any of my said Messuages Lands or Tenements or personall estate whatsoev[er] Provided alwayes and upon Condic[i]on That my said Nephews Rob[er]t Smith and William Smith upon Receipt of their Said Severall and respective legacyes doe Seal and deliver unto my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson her heires or Assignes Severall Released Releases of all such Clayme Titles Interest as they or either of them hath or may Seme to have to any of my Said Messuages Lands Tenements or hereditaments by any ways or meanes whatsoever Which if they refuse to doe then I give and bequeath the said Summes of Tenn pounds and Five pounds to my saud Cozen Isabell Clarkson or to her heires in case she be dead to defend the title of the p[re]misses soe made ov[er] and devised by me as afores[ai]d Likewise I give and bequeath unto my Three Neeces Isabell Smith Elanor Smith and Mary the wife of John [?]enham of Bernard Castle yeoman and to each and every of them the Sum[m]e of Five pounds of Lawfull money of England to be pay[e]d to them within three monethes next after the death and decease of my said Wife by my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson Likewise I give and bequeath unto Mary the wife of Henry Newton of Boulron Weav[er] the Sum[m]e of Two Shillings Six pence in token of my Love to be pay[e]d by my Ex[ecuto]r hereafter named All the rest and residue of my goods Chattells household shiffs and Implements of household and other my personall estate whatsoever in whose possession Soe[?] the Same be my debts funerall expences discharged I give devise legate and bequeath unto my said loveing wife Isabell and my said Cozen Isabell Clarkson who I doe hereby make and Ordaine Joint and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament In Witnesse whereof The Said Thomas Atkin have to this my last Will and Testament Sett to my hand and seale the fifteenth Day or February in the Sixth year of the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord and Lady William and William by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queen defenders of the faith And in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred Nynety Three
