Will of William Binks

of Boldron, Startforth, Yorkshire attested 23 Nov 1689

In the name of God Amen I William Binks of Bowlron in the
County of York yeoman being weake in body but of sound
and perfect mind and memory prayse be therefore given
to Almighty god, doe make and ordaine this my p[re]sent
last will and Testament in manner and forme following
That is to say first and prencipally I comend my soule
into the hands of Almighty god hopeing through the merits
death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have
full and free pardon of all my sinnes and to inherit everlasting
life, And my body I comit to the earth to be decently buried
in the Church Yard at Rumbald Church, at the discretion of
my Executors hereafter named And as touching the
disposeing of all such temporall estate as it hath pleased
god to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as
followeth First I give and bequeath to my Cosin Margaret
Manard of Bowlron the su[m]me of Fifty pounds of good &
lawfull money of England to be bestowed upon an Annuity
or Rent Charge for the payement of a yearely sum[m]e of money
to her for her maintenance for and dureing her naturall
life, by the order & appointm[ent] of my Loveing freinds Thomas
Wrightson and Richard Bincks which together with the Annuity
of Six pounds a year I have already stated upon her I hope
will be a sufficient maintenance for her, Alsoe I give
and bequeath to the poore people of Bowes that As to th Almes
the sum[m]e of Five pounds, to be divided among them ?
one weeke after my death, Alsoe I give and bequeath to my
Loveing Cosin Jayne the wife of John Baley the sum[m]e of Fower
pounds, as a token of my love Alsoe I give and bequeath
to my Cosin Henry Bincks Two shillings as a token of my love
Alsoe I give and bequeath to my Cosin Thomas Wrightson
of Cragg Two shillings as a token of my love Alsoe I give and
bequeath to my Cosin Isabell Horne One shilling as a token
of my love Alsoe I give and bequeath to my Cosin Margaret
Allanson Two shillings as a token of my love All the rest and
Residue of my personall estate goods and chattels whatsoever &
my debts Legacies & funerall expencis discharged I give and
bequeath to my Loveing Cosins Robert Laydman of Bowlron &
Grace his wife whome I ordaine and make sole Executors of
this my last will and Testament, And I do hereby revoke disannul
& make voyd all former wills and Testaments by me heretofore
made In wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale
the Twenty Third day of November In the year of our Lord
One thousand Six hundred Eighty Nine
