Will of Jonathan Longstaff

of Boldron, Startforth, Yorkshire attested 30 Aug 1841

In the name of God amen I Jonathan Longstaff of Bladesfield in the Township of Boldron in the Parish of Bowes in the north Riding of the County of York being of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testament setting aside all other will or wills heretofore made or executed by me and I further declare that it is my will that my wife Mary Longstaff be left in possession of the Farm on which I now reside with all the household furniture, farming stock and Implements of husbandry together with all my efects whatsoever whether in money in my possession or upon note or in any other form whatsoever or whatever else OI am possessed of to be at her own will & disposal and it is also my further will and pleasure that the above named Mary Longstaff be chargeable with and pay all my Just debts with my funeral expences and I further will that my said wife Mary Longstaff may consult with or advise with any of my three sons undermentioned in the direction of her business or affairs viz James Longstaff Thomas Longstaff & Jonathan Longstaff so that they may have no more power or controll over her than her own will and pleasure may permitt them
signed as witness my hand this thirtieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty one
