This is the last Will and testament of me EDMUND FLEMING AKERS of Berrymede Priory in the parish of Acton in the County of Middlesex Esquire I give devise and bequeath unto my dear wife CATHERINE AKERS for the term of her natural life one annuity of £1,200 in lieu bar and satisfaction of all Dower thirds quotes an indenture made or or about 22 February 1816 between me EDMUND FLEMING AKERS if the ine part and CATHERINE AKERS my said wife by her then Maiden name of CATHERINE DEWHIRST of Baker Street in the County of Middlesex spinster then an infant of the age of 19 years of the second part and GEORGE BOURKE KELLEY Esq of the third part being articles for a marriage settlement ..
daughter ELIZABETH GEORGE HARTMAN annuity of £500
Friend Mrs CORNELIA LEFEVRE now living with me as my Housekeeper annuity of £50
Brother JOHN HOUSTON AKERS annuity of £150
annuities to be paid out of my real and personal estate whatsoever whether in England or the west Indies or elsewhere save and except my Mansion House messuage or tenement with the buildings yard called Berrymeade Priory in the parish of Acton
Grandson EDMUND FLEMING AKERS HARTMAN the son of my said Daughter ELIZABTH GEORGE HARTMAN my gold watch by Brookbank my Chain and seals appended to it and also my gold seal and silver Ink stand and all such of my Books as were bound by his Mother
Friend Mr HENRY COKE son of the said CORNELIA LEFEVRE £1,000 sterling in addition to the said annuity of £50 to the said CORNELIA LEFEVRE whose faithful services for upwards of 40 years I am glad to acknowledge the sum of £300 to be paid to her within 12 calendar months next after my decease I give and bequeath to each of her sons FRANCIS EDMUND and JAMES the sum of £500 sterling and I direct that the three last mentioned legacies shall bear interest at the rate of £5 per cent from the date of my decease until paid
Brother JOHN HOUSTON AKERS £500 and this legacy I hope and request he will use and apply towards the discharge of his debts already contracted .. but my will is that what I have here expressed is to be considered merely as a recommendation . and submit to his discretion the propriety of removing himself and family into one of the cheapest places of residence in England or wales
My executors to sell and dispose by public auction of all the Books in My Library except those bequeathed to my Grandson and sell my household furniture after my said wife shall have selected thereot such part as she may wish to have for her own use and the proceeds arising from the sale of the said books, which I hope and expect will exceed £10,000 and the proceeds arising from the sale of the residue of my household furniture I give and bequeath unto my friends RICHARD WALTER FORBES of ?Rolvenden in the County of Kent and ISAAC DUPUY of Welbeck Street in the parish of St Marylebone IN THE County of Middlesex receive collect and call in so much and such part of the said residue of my personal estate as shall consist of money or securities for money and do and shall sell dispose of and convert iunto money such part thereof as shall not consist of money or securities for money, other than and except the Negroes or other Slaves cattle live and dead stock Implements and Utensils upon of belonging to my Plantations or estates in the West Indies and lay out and invest the same . and also the monies to arise by sale of the books and household furniture in Parliamentary Stocks or Funds and during the minority of my present only child ARETAS SEATON AKERS manage cultivate maintain stock and keep up all and singular my Plantations or estates in the West Indies to the best advantage [details about management of Plantaions]
In trust for for such of my sons born or to be born by my said wife as shall first attain the age of 21 years or die under that age leaving issue of his body lawfulyl begotten
and as to and concerning my said Mansion Hos called Berymeade Priory with the buildings garden orchards in the parish of Acton I direct my said trustess to sell and dispose of the same .
Trustees to cause a Suit to be instituted in the high Court of Chancery in England for establishing the Trusts in this my will and for obtaining the direction fo the said Court fot he execturion and performance of the same trusts

I EDMUND FLEMING AKERS of Berry Meade Priory in the parish of Acton do make publish and decalre this as a Codicil
changes to the administration of the annuity to daughter ELIZABETH GEORGE HARTMAN, interest to be paid to Mr HENRY COKE, interest to be paid to Brother JOHN HOUSTON AKERS, interest to be paid to Mrs CORNELIA LEFEVRE and her sons FRANCIS, EDMUND and JAMES
and I hereby desire that my body may be interred at Acton provided I die in Great Britain

further codicil revoke and make void that part relating to manage cultivate stock and keep up my Plantations during the minority of my only child ARETAS SEATON AKERS [clauses for future children who may yet be born, and if no son survives to 21 years ] Grandson EDMUND FLEMING AKERS HARTMAN shall not be let into the actual posession or management of the said third part or share bequeathed in trust for him in my said Plantations in he West Indies .. Grandson to receive interest during the time trustees manage the Plantation

On the 12 June 1828 admon with the will and 2 codicils annexed of the Goods and Chattels of Edmund Fleming Akers formerly of Berrymeade in the parish of Acton in the County of Middlesex but late of Brussels in Flanders deceased was granted to Catherine Akers widow the natural and lawful Mother next of kin and Curatrix or Guardian to Aretas Seaton Akers an infant the natural and lawful and only child and as such the residuary legatee Richard Walter Forbes esq having renounced as well the probate and execution of the said will and codicils and Isaac Dupuy esq the other executor now residing in the Island of Saint Vincent in the West Indies in nowise appearing as by Acts of Court appear
